On the 16th, Orix Buffaloes pitcher Daiki Tajima (29) gave up his day off during the Miyazaki training camp to practice on his own. He appeared in the indoor training facility in the morning, sweating from weight training and other activities. "I tend to relax too much when I'm in the room, so I came out for a bit. I came here to get my mind in order, and now I'm in order," he said, exuding a sense of fulfillment. He is steadily making preparations to be included in the opening rotation, and will be required to work at full capacity as a left-handed starter alongside Miyagi and Soya, who represent Japan in the WBC. He is scheduled to pitch in a real game after the sixth training session starting on the 21st, and he looked ahead to the future, saying, "Physically and mentally, I'll be happy if I can complete the training without getting too relaxed or too tense, and without any injuries."
