On the 16th, Seibu Lions held an "measurement day" where fielder did not participate in full practice but instead had their physical numbers measured.

Divided into five groups, the team measured the ball speed and swing speed of the players, and checked the extent of their improvement since last fall's camp, which focused on physical strengthening.

Both of the statistics for first-round draft catcher Taiga Kojima (22) from Meiji University are among the best compared to players who played in the first team last season. Hiroike, the team's general manager and director who observed the measurements, commented on Kojima, saying, "He's not particularly bulky, but his batting form is solid and he has good contact ability. His batted ball speed is also fast, as expected. When you watch him practice, everyone will think, 'That's the batting of a first-round draft pick.'" He also noted that the numbers have improved overall, and nodded, saying, "We're pleased with the results. We hope this will translate into improved team performance. I think we're moving in the right direction as a first step."
