On the 14th, Softbank Hawks 's three S-group players, Yuki Yanagita, Hotaka Yamakawa, and Kenta Imamiya who had been entrusted with training, joined the Miyazaki training camp. During the lunchtime batting practice session, the three players, Yamakawa and Yanagita, thrilled the stands by hitting over 40 balls over the fence. Manager Kokubo commented, "Did you see the free batting practice? Like the reaction of the crowd. The crowd was in a 'let's watch closely' atmosphere. I don't know where that comes from, but it's completely different. The crowd was watching closely, like they were glued to the ball. It wasn't just the players doing it out of habit. I think it was the atmosphere of concentration that came from today being the first day. The players who have been playing in A-group for a long time aren't at that level yet."
