Orix Buffaloes pitcher Soichiro Yamazaki recorded a speed of 150 km/h in his first live BP (batting practice in a real game setting). He threw a total of 20 pitches to Tonmiya, Mune, Hirooka, and Kurebayashi, and even got Tonmiya to ground out to third base with a curveball. "Ideally, I'd like to be able to swing my arm more even when hitter is standing up. fork still isn't changing like it did in the second half of last year," he said, looking ahead with eagerness.

"I wanted to throw 50 pitches today," he said after pitching, doing some additional pitch practice in bullpen. "I used the remaining pitches to do what I wanted to do," he said, wiping the sweat from his brow. The 160 km/h right-handed reliever is aiming to get back into the winning pattern. "I still have a long way to go. Kazuu, my sense. I need to improve even more from here," he said, appearing to be working hard to improve his level.
