Orix Buffaloes catcher Yuma Tongu hit the team's first home run in the Red-White game. With a two-run lead and one out in the fourth inning, he hit a home run off Katayama to the left field pole. He hit a fastball high and down the middle and was genuinely pleased, saying, "I had a good feeling. I had a good feeling at the end of the hit and was able to follow through."

He complained of a slight discomfort in the back of his right knee when he rounded first base, but there was no problem. He also performed Home Run demonstration for the Miyazaki fans, saying, "My juniors didn't do it at all (laughs). We were hoping that if I hit a home run, everyone would join in..." and expressed his hope that "everyone would participate."
