Nippon-Ham infielder Kotaro Kiyomiya hit a home run in his first at-bat of the season.

He started as the fifth batter and starting line-up baseman, and in his first at-bat in the second inning with one out, he hit a 145 km/h fastball from Rakuten Eagles starter Kosha. The ball, caught in the strong wind, flew into left-center field for his first solo home run of the season. His sudden hit delighted the fans.
