Rakuten Eagles 's new foreign player, outfielder Carson McCusker (formerly of the Twins), joined the team's training camp in Kin Town, Okinawa on the 10th.

The big new foreign player, who stands 203cm tall and wears a shoe size of 32cm, is enthusiastic about playing in his new home, saying, "I love trying new things. I want to do anything to help the team." On the first day, he only had some light batting practice indoors, but he vowed to contribute with his bat, saying, "My weapon is the power I use to make the most of my body. I'm aiming for 40 home runs."

When asked pitcher he would like to face in Japan, he named pitcher Kenta Maeda, saying, "Although we're on the same team." He said that he struck out against Maeda when they faced each other in Triple-A last year, and when they met on ground that day, he jokingly threw down a "challenge" to him, saying, "I'm going to get my revenge."
