On the 8th, Seibu outfielder Ramal (19), in his second year in Seibu Lions development team, vowed to be promoted to the regular team this season.
He has come back after overcoming the winter, having grown twice as big. He also batted fourth at Osaka Toin High School, and joined Seibu Lions as the third pick in the 2012 development draft. His training at Osaka Toin High School focused mainly on "maintaining muscle" during the season, but after turning pro, he has been working hard, constantly transforming his body, saying, "It feels like I'm constantly strengthening myself." Since moving into the dorms in January of last year, he has gained 13kg, now weighing 98kg. While lying on his back, he has now powered up to the point where he can "easily do three sets of 10" with a 40kg dumbbell, which he "previously could only lift once or twice." Even during batting practice, he feels a definite sense of accomplishment, saying, "Even when I thought it wouldn't go in, it actually goes in (into the stands)."
Now in his second year, he has juniors under him. During his second spring training camp, "I'm getting used to it and I understand the flow, so I'm able to concentrate on practice." Of course, this season, "my biggest goal is to be promoted to the regular team." "I want to be a player who can show results and contribute to the team's win." With a strong resolve in his heart, he will first run through this spring without injury.
