Nippon-Ham outfielder Haruki Nishikawa (33) started as the seventh batter and center starting line-up in the first team's intrasquad game in Nago, Okinawa on the 7th. He was immediately hit by a Hit by Pitch. In his first at-bat in the second inning, a 147 km/h fastball from developmental pitcher Matsumoto hit him directly in the right knee. He collapsed on the spot and writhed in pain for several minutes. A stretcher had to be brought out, but he managed to walk to first base on his own. In the next defense, he moved from center field to DH.
