Nippon-Ham Fighters manager Tsuyoshi Shinjo praised the two players on the 6th after the first day of the second training session.

The first fielder to be praised was Nomura, who had just been instructed to try out for second base. On the first day of full-scale training, he came in early to take on the second base defense role. "He volunteered and stayed until the end to take the role in the morning practice. That's great that he volunteered and wanted to take the role in the morning. There's no time, so he took action right away to grab it during training camp and exhibition games. It wasn't something he did gradually," he said.

However, as it was only the first day of the challenge, he pointed out his stiffness, saying, "I told him, but he doesn't need to defense that way as if he's going to be second baseman. Nomura, first baseman first base, throws with a very light and flowing motion. His position just shifted a little. The issue of image is important. If he becomes second baseman, he'll become jerky." Nevertheless, he made it clear that he will be used at second base in the first team's Red vs. White game scheduled for the 7th.

Another person who gave high praise was Hosono, who watched him pitch in bullpen. He is currently trying out a new pitching style with his arm lowered slightly, and said, "Hosono, you did a great job. When I saw the first two pitches, I thought, 'Oh, isn't his arm lower?' But with that lowering, the ball has a sharp, shooting spin that bites into the inside corner of the plate for left-handed batters."

However, Hosono also pointed out a few things that bothered him. "What I noticed was that when he throws fork, his arm position goes up a little. To make it drop. That makes it a little easier to see, you know it's fork. From the batter's perspective." He revealed the farm team's habits from a batter's point of view, and is using this to help them improve further.
