Softbank Hawks 's fifth-round draft pick, infielder Takayoshi Takahashi (JR East Japan), participated in Group A practice on the 6th. The Miyazaki camp is now on the first day of the second training session, and he joined Group A from that day. He was the fastest rookie to join Group A, and took batting practice under the watchful eye of manager Kokubo.

It was sudden. On the evening of the 5th, which was a rest day, "I was in my room thinking about going out to eat, when I got a call from the manager of the second team. He said, 'You'll be joining Group A starting tomorrow.'" He seemed surprised, saying, "I was preparing to join Group A, but I didn't think I'd be going so early," but he made an impression with his powerful batting that day. He hit a home run during the batting practice, and said with a smile, "I was nervous, but compared to the atmosphere at the Intercity Baseball Tournament qualifiers when I was playing professional baseball, the tension there was even greater," drawing on his experience.

During the rookie experience on the 5th, he also tried his hand at catching an eel. While vowing to "rise up the ranks," he said, "I think being able to do it right in front of the coach is one of the great things about being in Group A. I want to take full advantage of the fact that he's watching me and make an impression, so that I can stay in Group A for a long time."
