On the 5th, Rakuten Eagles held their first practice session at their Kin Town, Okinawa, training camp, simulating the new specifications of their home stadium.

Starting this season, Rakuten Eagles Mobile Saikyo Park Miyagi will be installing new outfield wall, with the left-center field being moved forward by up to six meters and the right-center field being moved forward by up to four meters. In anticipation of the home plate being narrower during the live BP and batting practice, cones were placed in the location of the moved-forward wall. Manager Miki explained the aim, saying, "Since wall is coming forward, we tried to see if there was anything we could do to counter it."

The smaller stadium will affect not only hitter, but also defense. "Especially in defense, we need to visualize it," said the manager. They are making thorough preparations to perform at their home stadium.
