Softbank Hawks 's third-round draft pick, pitcher Ryusei Oya (Chukyo University), hit a spectacular home run on the 5th. This was the first rest day of the Miyazaki training camp. Five rookie players currently accompanying the team in Group B (equivalent to farm team): Inagawa, Go Suzuki, Takahashi, Oya, and Takashi Suzuki, visited Unagidokoro Unagiraku in Miyazaki City and experienced making unaju (eel rice bowl).

First, he tried to grab an eel with his bare hands. While the other four contestants reacted with surprise at the large eel in front of them, saying "It's huge!", Oya calmly prepared himself. While the other four contestants struggled, he managed to lift it up to face height.

He is a right-hand man from Aichi Prefecture. One of his specialties is "Hitsumabushi," but he smiles and says, "I love living creatures so much, I had no hesitation at all," revealing his side as a wildlife lover. "I'll do my best to make the eel business soar," he says, having had a successful first attempt at his main job, and he is now in control of the business.
