Rakuten Eagles 's new foreign player, pitcher Jose Ureña (34), joined the first-team camp in Kin Town, Okinawa on the 5th.

Ureña is a right-handed pitcher from the Dominican Republic, standing 188 cm tall and weighing 94 kg. He has appeared in 251 major league games, compiling a record of 44 wins, 78 losses, 6 ERA 4.75. He even recorded 14 wins in 2017 while playing for the Marlins. He is expected to be a key part of Rakuten Eagles 's starting rotation.

He arrived in Japan on the previous day, the 4th. He commented, "I'm happy to be on the same boat as all the fans in Tohoku."
