Orix Buffaloes 's first-round draft pick, pitcher Atsuya Fujikawa (Nobeoka Gakuen High School), and second-round draft pick, pitcher Haruki Mori (Osaka Toin High School), have set a goal of "finishing the Miyazaki camp." On the 4th, the first day off of the camp, they experienced making "nerikuri" (rice cakes) in Miyazaki City with four other players who were drafted under their contract. Both players said it was "fun" and seemed to enjoy pounding mochi, which helped them regain their energy.

On the 3rd, the final day of the first training session, both players entered bullpen for the first time, throwing 30 pitches to catcher. "I want to finish this training camp without getting injured, learn as much as I can from my seniors, and get in shape to be able to play well through the season," said Fujikawa enthusiastically, while Mori Akira also emphasized, "I want to get in shape so I don't get injured, and be well prepared for the season."

Moriaki, who hails from Nobeoka City, Miyazaki, promoted his hometown by saying, "The climate is very warm, and the people of Miyazaki are all calm and kind. It's a very livable town." Fujikawa, who graduated from Nobeoka Gakuen (Miyazaki), also smiled and said, "It's a place where I spent three years of high school, so it brings back fond memories, and I have fond memories of it." Both pitchers, who have a top speed of 153 km/h, will be spending a busy month in Miyazaki, a place they have a connection to.
