Kuwahara practices outfield defense after the team practice

Seibu outfielder Masayuki Kuwahara (32), who joined Seibu Lions after exercising his free agency rights from DeNA, made his presence felt both on and off the field on the 2nd.

His voice volume is a reflection of his dedication to this season. During special fielding practice in the dust, he chased the white ball while shouting, "Naturally. Emotions come from within," and his uniform was instantly covered in mud. He is a master center fielder with his former team, having won two Golden Glove Awards, but his position this season is undecided. He is intent on preparing for the future, such as playing fielding with a focus on left fielder, saying, "The quality of the hits will change completely."

At DeNA, he was nicknamed "Guts Man" due to his spirited play. Even though he has changed teams, his beliefs have not changed, and he is passionate about his role, saying, "I think I have a role to play in energizing the team. I put my feelings at the forefront."

He also showed careful consideration for those around him, such as actively talking to outfielder Lin Anko (28), a fellow Seibu player who described himself as "Seibu Lions," and teaching him Japanese, saying, "I really respect his attitude and would like to help him in any way I can." After the interview ended, he loudly said, "I look forward to seeing you again tomorrow!" as he left the stadium. (Oonaka Ayami)
