Orix Buffaloes pitcher Kosei Yoshida threw his first bullpen pitch at the Kiyotake training camp in Miyazaki. He threw 29 pitches with catcher behind the plate, reaching a top speed of 143 km/h. He threw his last three pitches with a full-force pitch.

The right-handed pitcher underwent Tommy John surgery on his right elbow in March of last year and is expected to return this season. "It's warm out, so I can swing my arm around. Even the trainer is surprised at how well it's going," he said with a smile. Regarding his larger lower body, he said with a grin, "Last year, I wanted to throw but couldn't, so I took out my anger on squats." Aiming for a complete recovery, he is aiming to return to action during training camp.
