Orix Buffaloes Buffaloes pitcher Kosei Yoshida threw his first bullpen pitch at the Kiyotake Camp in Miyazaki. With catcher seated, he threw 29 pitches, the fastest being 143 km/h. He threw the last three pitch with full force, starting with a windup.

The right-handed pitcher underwent Tommy John surgery on his right elbow in March of last year and is expected to return this season. "It's warm out, so I can swing my arm around. Even the trainer is surprised at how well it's going," he said with a smile. Regarding his larger lower body, he said with a grin, "Last year, I wanted to throw but couldn't, so I took out my anger on squats." Aiming for a complete recovery, he is aiming to return to action during training camp.
