Rakuten Eagles started the second day of their training camp in Kin Town, Okinawa on the 2nd.

The early practice session began just after 8:30 a.m., with young fielder Taira, Muto, Irie, Komori, and others taking batting practice. Ambassador Okajima, who retired from Rakuten Eagles at the end of last season, and Ambassador Ginji served as batting pitcher, and the breakout hopefuls swung their bats. Nakajima, Muneyama, and others also trained during the early practice session.

New players, including Ken Maeda, who returned to Japan for the first time in 11 years, current draft pick Sato, and new right-handed relief pitcher Contreras, have started their first-team training camp. The team is fired up to fight back from last season's fourth-place finish.
