On the 7th, Nippon-Ham catcher Yuya Gunji attended a tasting event for the new brand 'Shakemaru Salmon,' a fish farming business launched by the team. He appeared wearing a Shakemaru T-shirt after the fall camp at Es-Con. After tasting salmon sashimi and a salmon bowl, he gave a food report, saying, 'It is incredibly delicious. The high-quality fat pairs perfectly with the rice; I could eat many bowls of this. Salmon is considered a great food for athletes, containing protein and various other good nutrients, so I want to eat a lot of it to build a strong body and significantly improve my performance.'

Although he started this season as the number four hitter, he also experienced being demoted to the minor leagues, and his stats dropped from last season, finishing with a .251 batting average and 7 Home Runs. 'My impression is that I didn't have enough salmon this year, so I want to do some salmon self-training, eat a lot, get into great shape, and since salmon are fish that swim upriver, I want to be on an upward trend as well,' he said enthusiastically, referencing the characteristics of salmon swimming upstream.

This is the world's first branded salmon aquaculture business operated by a professional sports team. 'Shakemaru Salmon' is raised in land-based tanks using meltwater from Mount Daisetsu and is fed a diet that includes chicken meal from the Nippon Ham Group. This results in a highly nutritious salmon with approximately twice the EPA, DHA, and Vitamin D content of typical salmon.

Starting from this day, the Shakemaru Salmon individual owner system with special benefits will be available through hometown tax donations and other channels. A special tank where you can observe actual Shakemaru Salmon swimming will be installed inside ES CON FIELD, allowing visitors to enjoy the atmosphere of a mini-aquarium.
