Seibu Lions outfielder Shinya Hasegawa (24) of Samurai Japan pledged on the 6th to contribute at multiple positions. Samurai Japan is currently holding a training camp in Miyazaki (Sun Marine Stadium Miyazaki) for the 'Raxus Asia Professional baseball Championship 2026' (November 12-15, Tokyo Dome). Shinya Hasegawa worked up a sweat during activities such as free batting practice.
During fielding practice, he took his position at first baseman in addition to center field. 'I was told there might be a chance I'll play first baseman. I want to do my best to perform well no matter where I defend,' he said, looking ahead.
This season, he appeared in 86 games and recorded a career-high 13 Home Runs. He is scheduled to start as the number seven hitter and center fielder in the practice game against Lotte on the 7th. He expressed his enthusiasm, saying, 'I want to make sure I can regain my game-day intuition.'
