Seibu Lions developmental outfielder Lamar after finishing his contract negotiations

Seibu Lions developmental outfielder Lamar (20) underwent contract negotiations at the team office in Tokorozawa City, Saitama on the 30th, signing for a status quo annual salary of 2.8 million yen.

He joined the Seibu Lions as the third-round developmental draft pick in 2024 from Osaka Toin. In this, his second season, he suffered a torn left anterior cruciate ligament in March while with the farm team and underwent surgery, ending the season without appearing in a single farm game. In his first year in 2025, he only appeared in third-squad games and had no appearances for the second-squad. Heading into a crucial third year, he expressed his determination, saying, 'My strength is my power hitting, so I hope to contribute to the team by making the most of that long-range hitting ability.'

During the off-season, he plans to conduct independent training with his teammate, outfielder Shinya Hasegawa (24), and expressed his enthusiasm, saying, 'Since his level is high in both batting and defense, I hope to steal his good points and make them my own.'
