On the 30th, the Orix Buffaloes officially announced that Taisuke Kondo, a member of the public relations staff, will be appointed as a development coach. He joined the Orix Buffaloes as a second-round draft pick in 2015 from the corporate team Panasonic. Starting in 2017, he appeared in over 50 games for three consecutive years, supporting the bullpen.

In September 2020, he underwent medial collateral ligament reconstruction of the right elbow (commonly known as Tommy John surgery) and signed a developmental contract during the following off-season. He returned to the active roster in 2022, contributing to the team's consecutive league titles by recording 15 holds in 32 games.

He moved to The Giants via a cash trade in the 2023 off-season. He retired from active play at the end of 2025 and served as a public relations officer for the Orix Buffaloes this season.

After receiving an offer from the team, he expressed his determination, saying, 'I have experience overcoming injuries and rehabilitation myself. I accepted because I thought it would be good if I could pass that on to the younger players.' He continued, 'I suffered an injury that could have ended my career (a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder in March 2005), so I want to prevent my juniors from going through the same thing. There are many players who get injured or undergo Tommy John surgery, so I want to provide them with mental support, rehabilitation guidance, and advice. I must continue to study so that I can answer whatever questions they may have.'

I envision it not as coddling them, but rather as making sure they understand the reality of the situation. I hope to become a coach who can convey what it takes to succeed in the first squad. I want to put all my effort into supporting the younger players so they can perform well on the first-squad stage.
