SMBC Japan Series 2026 Game 4: Softbank Hawks 4-2 DeNA (28th, Mizuho PayPay)

It was revealed on the 28th that the future of Softbank Hawks Darwinzon Hernández pitcher (29) remains undecided. In the final year of his two-year contract this season, he posted a 1.48 ERA over 45 games. Although he contributed to the Japan Series with two wins and one hold in three games, the team intends to carefully evaluate his contract for next season.

Moinelo, who is treated as a Japanese player, Osuna, who is under a multi-year contract, and Hsu are expected to stay, and the team plans to prepare an offer for a contract extra inning for Stewart, whose two-year contract expires this season. Downs, in his third year with the team, and Rutledge, who joined mid-season, are in a state of flux, while Rodriguez, who was promoted from a developmental to a major league contract in July, is expected to leave the team.
