SMBC Japan Series 2026 Game 4: Softbank Hawks vs. DeNA (28th, Mizuho PayPay)

Softbank Hawks owner Masayoshi Son celebrated their 13th Japan Series title, and second in a row, as he was tossed into the air during the victory celebration.

At the beginning of the victory celebration, Owner Masayoshi Son was scheduled to take the stage to give a speech. Instead, President Yoshimitsu Goto took the stage using crutches and gave an unexpected explanation: 'Owner Son was here until just a moment ago. He returned from overseas today and came straight here to witness everyone's victory. However, he has left as he ran out of energy... so I will be serving as his substitute.'

Owner Son was smiling after the game, saying, 'It was truly wonderful. From the first game of the Japan Series, it was extra inning after extra inning, which kept me on the edge of my seat. It was a truly fantastic game,' but he appeared to be quite exhausted as one might expect.
