On the 26th, Seibu Lions Director and General Manager Koji Hiroike spoke to the press at the club's facilities in Tokorozawa City, Saitama, regarding pitcher Kaima Taira (26), who wishes to challenge Major League Baseball this offseason using the posting system.

After holding direct discussions following the end of the season, negotiations with the club are currently being conducted through an agent. The general manager explained the current situation, stating, 'I have spoken with the agent many times. I don't have plans to speak with Taira himself at the moment, but I intend to talk to him somewhere once the final decision is made.' He further suggested that negotiations are progressing smoothly, adding, 'The talks are gradually coming together. Naturally, this is because we have spoken many times.'

On the 20th, the first day of autumn practice, Taira spoke calmly about his desire to challenge Major League Baseball, which he has been conveying to the club since the 2019 off-season. He stated, 'I tell the club every year that I want to go. Since it would involve the posting system (if it were this off-season), it is not my right to decide. I think it depends on the club.'
