Nippon-Ham CBO Hideki Kuriyama spoke on the 23rd regarding Hideki Matsui (52), who will become the new manager of The Giants. Attending a draft greeting for first-round pick Komoda at Yamanashi Gakuin, he expressed his hopes for the development of the baseball world, saying, 'As a person involved in baseball, having Manager Kudo join Chunichi next year and finally having Manager Matsui become a manager is very exciting. It will really liven up the baseball world, and I want people to talk about baseball in various places, for better or for worse. For example, managers are often criticized, and we received a lot of criticism when we were active, but including that, having people talk about baseball means they are watching it. It is a great thing that everyone is thinking about baseball. Personally, I feel like, "Ah, that's good."'
