Keio University captain and infielder Keisuke Imazu (4th year, Asahikawa Higashi) was selected by Nippon-Ham as the 5th pick in the developmental draft.

Although he felt anxious that it might all end there when his name wasn't called during the main draft, he waited after his teammates told him, 'Starting from the very bottom is more your style.' As a result, the good news arrived that he had been selected by Nippon-Ham, the team from his hometown of Hokkaido.

Serving as this year's captain, he recorded a team-high 15 RBI as a second baseman in this spring's league games. He was also selected for the Best Nine. Excelling in both academics and sports, his alma mater, Asahikawa Higashi, is one of the top public preparatory schools in the prefecture. His grandfather, Hiroshi, is a former member of the House of Representatives, and his father, Kansuke, serves as the Mayor of Asahikawa; he himself dreams of becoming a 'professional baseball player then Prime Minister.'

When asked about his current intentions, he revealed his thoughts on pursuing the white ball, saying, "Since I have followed in the footsteps of my father and grandfather, I am interested in the political world as well, but right now I am desperately practicing baseball every day. I don't know what the future holds, but I want to do my best to continue as a player for The Fighters for as long as possible."
