On the 12th, NPB announced that pitcher Luis Perdomo has been released as a free agent.
Perdomo, who also played for Lotte, joined the Orix Buffaloes midway through the 2024 season. Last season, his second with the team, he was primarily entrusted with the eighth inning of winning games and recorded 35 hold points, tying for second in the league. This season, he had a series of games where he allowed runs from the opening, leading to a mid-season conversion to a starting pitcher. He has been away from actual game appearances since the June 20 match against the Seibu Lions (Kyocera Dome Osaka), where he suffered his third loss after allowing 4 runs in 4 2/3 innings.
