Hiroki Nomura, who appeared on 'Professional baseball News 2026' broadcast on Fuji TV ONE on the 8th, mentioned Nippon-Ham's Reyes.

Regarding the CS first baseman stage against the Seibu Lions, Nomura spoke about the significance of Reyes' presence, stating, 'Whether Reyes, who has maintained such a high home run count and batting average, is firmly in the lineup or not changes the entire batting order, including the hitters before and after him. It is huge that Reyes can return, and I believe it comes down to how much he can contribute.'

Akihiko Ohya, who appeared on the same program, also seemed to view Reyes as the key to victory for both Nippon-Ham and the Seibu Lions, stating, "I feel the same way. If the Seibu Lions don't let Reyes hit, they can win; he carries that much weight. Therefore, I believe it comes down to how effectively the Seibu Lions pitchers can act as a closer against Reyes."

Reyes won the Home Run and RBI titles in '25, and this season, his third year in Japan, he captured his first leading hitter title. He also recorded 32 Home Runs and 82 RBIs with his characteristic power hitting. Although he was sidelined by an injury at the very end of the season, all eyes are on whether he can compete without any lingering effects.
