Softbank Hawks pitcher Ryusei Oe, who came to give his greetings

On the 6th, Softbank Hawks pitcher Ryusei Oe was notified by the team that his contract would not be renewed for the next season.

After finishing discussions with the team, Oe expressed his feelings, saying, 'I feel that The Hawks helped me grow. I have nothing but gratitude for being allowed to play for such a strong team. At the same time, I feel regret and a sense of apology for not being able to produce results.'

Last May, he joined from The Giants along with Akihiro in a two-for-one trade for Richard. Using his unconventional form as a weapon, he performed well that year with an ERA of 1.53 in 16 games, but this season he was limited to only 3 appearances. He was removed from the active roster on May 24. Since then, he has had no first-team appearances and has continued his adjustments in the farm system.

While his primary wish is to continue playing in the NPB, he is also considering tryouts, stating, 'I want to explore any place where I can play baseball, whether in Japan or abroad.' His record of 165 consecutive games without a loss is tied for second all-time in the NPB. Carrying the experience of the past two years in his heart, he said, 'There were many areas where I felt I was able to grow by coming to The Hawks, so I think I can still keep going.'
