Softbank Hawks announced on the 6th that they have informed pitcher Ryusei Oe, developmental pitcher Takehiro Hasegawa, pitcher Hammond, and infielder Shuji Kuwahara that they will not be renewing their contracts for next season.
Oe joined The Giants as a 6th round draft pick in 2016. In his fourth year, 2020, he appeared in 43 games with an ERA of 3.11, contributing to The Giants' league championship. He also appeared in 47 games the following year in 2021. Although he played in 32 games in 2023, he was traded to the Softbank Hawks midway through 2025. That same year, he appeared in 16 games and recorded an ERA of 1.53, but this season he was limited to only 3 appearances.
