Pacific League: Rakuten Eagles vs. Softbank Hawks (5th, Rakuten Mobile Saikyo Park Miyagi)

Softbank Hawks outfielder Kensuke Kondo's chances of becoming the leading hitter have become difficult. Entering the final game with a .310 batting average, trailing the leader Reyes (Nippon-Ham) by .003, he needed 3 hits or more in 4 At Bats to stage a comeback. However, in the first inning with one out and a runner on second, he struck out swinging, and in the third inning with two outs and a runner on first, he hit a fly ball to center.

After two consecutive hitless at-bats, his batting average dropped to .309.
