◆Pacific League: Lotte vs. Rakuten Eagles (4th, ZOZO Marine)

Lotte outfielder Koki Yamaguchi hit home runs in two consecutive at-bats.

First, in the bottom of the fourth with no outs and a runner on first while trailing by one run, he caught a low inside cutter thrown by Hayakawa. The ball flew into the left-field stands. He turned the game around with his 36th two-run Home Run. The record for most Home Runs since the team moved to Chiba was previously held by Benny, who hit 35 in 2004, but Yamaguchi has now broken that record.

Furthermore, in the sixth inning with a one-run lead, he stepped up as the leadoff hitter and drove a certain home run into the left-field seats for his 37th of the season. With this spectacular display of back-to-back home runs, he sent the home stadium into a frenzy.
