The Orix Buffaloes officially announced that Head Coach Toshio Haru will step down at the end of this season due to the expiration of his contract, and Hitting Coach Keizo Kawashima will also depart following his own request to leave the team.
Coach Haru joined as the chief development coach in 2023 and served as the minor league manager last year. He has a solid reputation for his enthusiastic instruction and has been devotedly supporting manager Mamoru Kishida.
During his playing days, Coach Kawashima played for Nippon-Ham, Yakult, Softbank Hawks, and Rakuten Eagles. He retired from active play at the end of 2022. After stepping down as the Rakuten Eagles' first-team batting coach following the 2024 off-season at his own request, he had been improving the abilities of Wakatsuki and other fielders as a batting coach since last year.
The team finished its full season schedule on the 3rd with a game against the Rakuten Eagles (Rakuten Mobile Rakuten Seimei Park Miyagi). They finished in the B-class for the first time in two years with 11 games under .500. It was also announced that Manager Kishida will continue in his role, and he will aim for a comeback under a new structure in his third year in office.
