◆Pacific League: Lotte 3-4 Softbank Hawks (2nd, ZOZO Marine)

Lotte suffered a comeback loss to the Softbank Hawks and was unable to mark outfielder Katsuya Kakunaka's retirement game with a victory.

In the bottom of the 8th inning with two outs and a runner on first in a 1-1 tie, fourth batter Sato hit his 18th two-run home run into the right-field stands off Softbank Hawks starting left-hander Yuu Maeda. The entire team entered the game with the mindset of "definitely winning for Kakunaka-san." They took a two-run lead over the Softbank Hawks, who have already clinched the championship.

However, they couldn't hold the lead. The closer Yokoyama, who took the mound in the 9th inning, faced a crisis with runners on first and third with one out after a Walk to Kondo and other factors. At that point, he gave up a come-from-behind three-run homer to Yamamoto Yu into the left-field stands. They failed to score in the bottom of the inning, unable to gift a win to Kakunaka.
