After the Lotte vs. Softbank Hawks game held at Zozo Marine Stadium on the 2nd, a retirement ceremony for Katsuya Kakunaka was held, and Hideaki Wakui of Chunichi sent a video message to Kakunaka.

Wakui left a comment saying, 'Kakunaka, thank you for your hard work over these 20 years. I consider you one of the people I became particularly close with during my six years with The Marines. The most memorable moment for me is probably the interleague game against the Hanshin Tigers in 2015. I still clearly remember that comeback grand slam in the 9th inning. I also think you were a very good player, showing off laser beams from the outfield from time to time and infield hits with your surprisingly fast feet. It makes me very lonely that I can no longer face you in baseball, but since it's you, Kakunaka, I think you'll run off to play golf now, so I'm always open to a golf match. Just be careful not to get scolded by your wife for going to golf too much. I look forward to seeing you again someday. See you.'

When Wakui appeared in the video message, social media was filled with comments such as 'Wakui-san is so cool,' 'Wakui's sense of stability,' 'I like how Wakui-san's words feel the same as always,' 'I love how Wakui-san says funny things with a straight face,' and 'Wakui-san is really good at giving comments.'
