Today, Wednesday, January 14th, we will be replaying three of the 12 home run that Kotaro Kiyomiya hit in 2025.

The opening arch that led to win in the opening game and the unexpected "first" Home Run

The first one was the opening game on March 28, 2025. The game began with a duel pitcher pitcher Tatsuya Imai and Shoma Kanemura and was pitcher 0-0 until the sixth inning. In the top of the seventh inning, the first hitter was Kiyomiya. He caught the first pitch, a low fastball, and the ball flew high into the right-field stands. It was a stunning home run to score the opening run.

The second home run came on July 13th against Orix Buffaloes. In the bottom of the 5th inning, with the score 1-0 and one out with a runner on second base, Kiyomiya stepped up to the plate and swung hard at a high breaking ball. Despite the wind due to it being a roof-open day, the ball flew straight into bullpen in right field. The bench erupted in cheers at the perfect hit, his 7th home run of the season, a two-run shot. Reyes followed with another Home Run, and the home fans were ecstatic.

The last one was on September 25th against Saitama Seibu Lions. In the top of the second inning, with no outs and a runner on first base, Kiyomiya swung firmly at a slightly soft pitch, sending it flying straight to left-center field and into the stands. In fact, this was his first home run in the opposite direction in his eighth year as a pro. Kiyomiya is still growing, and we look forward to seeing him continue to grow in 2026.
