Rakuten Eagles Roancy Contreras pitcher (26), a former member of the Rockies, held a press conference in Nago City, Okinawa, on April 30. He is a 10-time MLB winner and is expected to be one of the starters in the rotation.
A native of the Dominican Republic, right-handed pitcher is 185cm right-handed hitter and weighs 92kg. He turned pro with the Yankees in 2016, and played for the Pirates and other teams before joining the Rockies last season. He was selected to represent the Dominican Republic in the 2023 World Baseball Classic, where Japan won.
