Rakuten Eagles Roancy Contreras pitcher (26), a former member of the Rockies, held a press conference in Nago City, Okinawa, on April 30. He is a 10-time MLB winner and is expected to be one of the starters in the rotation.
He is from the Dominican Republic, is right-handed pitcher and right-handed hitter, stands 185 cm tall and weighs 92 kg. He turned professional with the Yankees in 2016, and after playing for the Pirates and other teams, he was with the Rockies last season. He was selected to represent the Dominican Republic in the 2023 World Baseball Classic, which Japan won.
