Former Yankees pitcher Alan Winans (30) held a press conference to announce his joining the team on the 30th at the team office in Tokorozawa, Saitama.

This season, he has started 18 games for the Yankees' Triple-A team, going 12-1 with an impressive 1.63 ERA. "Mentally, I'm pitcher who throws with a lot of confidence. My strengths are fielding a lot of ground balls during games and minimizing runs allowed," he says, showing his confidence.

During the press conference, he casually said "Arigato gozaimasu" and is focusing on improving his Japanese language skills, and the right-handed pitcher is also eager to adapt to Japanese culture, saying, "I used to watch Naruto and Dragon Ball Z a lot when I was younger. I like sushi, and I personally like fried food too." Looking ahead to the season in his new home, he enthusiastically said, "I just want to contribute to The Lions winning. I want to think about what I can do to help the team win, not just the big things, but also the small details."
