Nippon-Ham infielder Kotaro Kiyomiya (26) officially announced this season's slogan, "DOMI!", on the 30th in Nago, Okinawa. The previous day, there was a surprise announcement on Manager Shinjo's Instagram, but on this day, Players' Association President Shin Kiyomiya officially explained the thoughts behind the slogan.

The name is based on the word "dominate," which means to control, and he said, "I thought that voiced consonants and the like would add a lot of energy. At first I was thinking of going with 'dominate,' but I thought it would be easy for everyone to say, so I came up with ideas like 'domi-ru,' 'domi-re,' 'domi-katsu,' and 'domi-o,' and gave it to the team." He called for the name to be used in a variety of ways.

He also envisioned a scene where the slogan would unite the stadium and players, saying, "I want you to say it a lot on social media, and I'd be happy if fans who come to watch The Fighters games would say, 'We're doing Domi-katsu.'"
