The final day of Lotte's joint voluntary training for rookies was held on the 28th at Lotte Urawa Baseball Stadium.

After completing the rookie joint voluntary training, first-round draft pick Genki Ishigaki (Kendai Takasaki High School) spoke to the press and said, "We were practicing in front of a lot of people, so I was a bit nervous and stiff at first, but I gradually got used to it and it was a fulfilling time."

Manager Saburo, who appeared on "Professional baseball News 2026" broadcast on Fuji TV ONE on the 26th, said, "I don't know if he'll be on the first team at the start of the season, but if he's in a condition to pitch, I'd like him to pitch on the first team." He also talked about his plans for using him, saying, "Of course, he'll start as reliever, pitch one inning, take a break, then pitch another inning, and in the meantime he'll build up his physique. I'd like him to pitch as a starter in the future."

In response to this, Ishigaki stated his current thoughts, saying, "That's what I'm aiming for (making the opening day first team), but if I get injured I don't think I'll be able to pitch, so I'd like to pitch once I'm in a condition where I can pitch properly."

The camp will begin in four days. "I'm the only high school student here, so I hope to greet everyone properly and make sure they remember me, so I can get used to the atmosphere and finish the camp on a good note," he said enthusiastically.
