The final day of Lotte's joint voluntary training for rookies was held on the 28th at Lotte Urawa Baseball Stadium.
First-round draft pick right-handed pitcher Genki Ishigaki (18) of Takasaki University of Health Sciences reflected on his voluntary training, which began on the 10th, saying, "I spent a lot of time moving around. Since I was practicing in front of a lot of people, I was nervous at first and my movements were stiff, but I gradually got used to it and it was a very fulfilling experience."
He has been confirmed to take part in the first-team camp in Miyakonojo, Miyazaki, and expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "I think my condition is improving day by day. I'm the only high school student (at the first-team camp), so I hope to greet everyone properly, get to know them, get used to the atmosphere, and finish the camp on a good note." For his first professional camp, he said, "I think I'll bring a mattress," and will try to recover from fatigue quickly during rest periods in order to get through the tough days.
