Rakuten Eagles Fumiya Kurokawa infielder (24) held a training session in Sendai City on March 27. He adjusted by hitting off the tee. Last season, Kurokawa secured playing time mainly at second base from June onwards and played in a career-high 83 games. He made great strides with a batting average of .299, four Home Run and 33 RBI. His competitive spirit was also evident with a batting average of .344 in scoring position.

This offseason, he has been working on his physical fitness in order to further improve his batting ability. He has also gained about 2 kilograms in weight.
