Seibu Lions' third-year development infielder, Koji Kaneko (22), opened his voluntary training session to the public in Maebashi, Gunma on the 23rd, revealing his strong determination to be promoted to the regular team.

He is a right-handed pitcher and left-handed hitter infielder who joined Seibu Lions as the fourth overall pick in the 23rd Development Draft from Komyo Sagamihara via the BC League Saitama. This offseason, "I want to see how he moves up close. In the sense that I want to watch and study up close," he asked Sosuke Genda infielder (32) following last offseason and participated in the "Genda Juku" with Takizawa for the second year in a row. He is consciously always taking the ball after Genda when he knocks. "I watch from behind to learn how his feet move when he takes a knock," he said, trying to absorb all the skills of the famous player who has won the Golden Glove award seven times in seven consecutive years.

As he enters his third year of training, he is fully prepared and says, "The amount of training has increased." He has been scheduled to start spring training in Kochi's Haruno second team. "I want to bat in a way that makes people think I'm different from the other players. I want to be under the control of the team, but that won't happen unless I get results, so I want to focus on results," he said.
