Rakuten Eagles ambassadors Ginji and Takero Okajima, who were teammates with Andrew Jones, who played for Rakuten Eagles in 2013 and 2014, congratulated him on his induction into the National baseball Hall of Fame.
Ginji, who batted cleanup alongside Jones in 2013 when the team won its first Japan Series championship, commented, "AJ, congratulations on your induction into baseball Hall of Fame. Fighting alongside AJ to win the league championship and become Japan's number one team is a memory that will last a lifetime. He loved baseball more than anyone, he loved baseball so much, and he always observed the opposing pitcher and taught me the finer details baseball. I am really proud of batting order in 2013, with Ginji batting third and AJ batting fourth. It was reassuring to have AJ behind me. I was able to step up to the plate with peace of mind and comfort every time. Please continue to love baseball. I'll be waiting for you in Japan!"
Okajima, who spent his second and third seasons as a professional with AJ, also congratulated him, saying, "Playing with AJ is a treasure and a treasure to me. I will never forget the timely goal he hit in the game that decided the league championship. He always led us with his wonderful captaincy. I really respect him both as a player and as a person."
