Misho Nishikawa outfielder, which is training voluntarily in Ginoza Village, Okinawa Prefecture, released comments through the baseball team on March 16.
Nishikawa commented, "I feel like I'm getting better at hitting powerful balls with each passing day. I can feel my body is sharper and lighter. Although I was named Rookie of the Year, I'm not at all satisfied with the results of my first year, so I want to aim even higher in my second year. I want to work hard to grow even more. Right now, I'm working to build on the form I had last year when I was in good form, while also working to improve my level even further. Personally, I want to play in every game, aim to be the batting hitter, and hit double-digit Home Run. I'm always listening to the various things I have to say to Uebayashi (of Chunichi Dragons) and Morishita (of Hanshin Tigers), who I train with, and I learn a lot from them and they're very inspiring."
Nishikawa hit a wall as a pro right after the start of last season as a rookie, but after being promoted for the third time in June, he recorded a batting average of .311, and ultimately finished with a batting average of .281, fifth in the league, and a league-leading 27 doble, earning him Pacific League Rookie of the Year award. Expectations are high for even more success this season.
