Rakuten Eagles-Ryosuke Tatsumi

Rakuten Eagles GM Kazuhisa Ishii (52) spoke about outfielder Ryosuke Tatsumi (29), who has exercised his domestic free agent (FA) rights from Rakuten Eagles, after a manager-coach meeting held at the team office on the 15th. While Tatsumi's future is undecided, the team has already indicated it will allow him to declare his intention to stay. GM Ishii revealed, "We've talked about wanting to work together," and added, "I'd like to respect their (Ryosuke Tatsumi and Takahiro Norimoto) decisions." He also stated that he would respect the decisions of both players, including Takahiro Norimoto, whose future is also undecided.

Tatsumi joined the team as the first pick in the 2018 draft from Ritsumeikan University. As center fielder, he has won the Golden Glove Award for five consecutive years since 2021. In 2024, he also won the most hit title for the first time. Last season, he struggled, being demoted to the second team twice, but in 114 games he played, he had a batting average of .240, 32 RBI, 7 Home Run, and 20 stolen base.

Tatsumi took part in a talk show in Fukuoka on the 10th, where he said, "Nothing has been decided, so there's nothing I can talk about."
