Rakuten Eagles Eagles General Manager Kazuhisa Ishii (52) spoke to reporters on the 15th after a manager and coaches meeting at the team office regarding outfielder Ryosuke Tatsumi (29), who has exercised his domestic free agent (FA) rights from Rakuten Eagles. Although Tatsumi's future is undecided, the team has already indicated that it will allow him to remain with the team if he declares free agency. GM Ishii revealed, "We talked about the possibility of working together," and added, "I want to respect their (Ryosuke Tatsumi and Takahiro Norimoto's) decisions." He stated that the team will respect the decisions of both Tatsumi and Norimoto, whose future is also undecided.
Tatsumi joined the team as the first pick in the 2018 draft from Ritsumeikan University. As center fielder, he has won the Golden Glove Award for five consecutive years since 2021. In 2024, he also won the most hit title for the first time. Last season, he struggled, being demoted to the second team twice, but in 114 games he played, he had a batting average of .240, 32 RBI, 7 Home Run, and 20 stolen base.
Tatsumi took part in a talk show in Fukuoka on the 10th, where he said, "Nothing has been decided, so there's nothing I can talk about."
