infielder Jonathan Moreno, who joined Softbank Hawks on a development contract, held a press conference at Mizuho PayPay Dome on the 14th. He will walk the "Moine Road" and grow into a left-handed pitcher who, like the Cuban native, rose through the development ranks.

He played for the Cuban national team at the U-18 World Cup (Okinawa) in September 2013, where he also won the Best defense award. He is a Cuban treasure, with four major league teams and three NPB teams showing interest in acquiring him. He lists his strengths as "defense." He named Tatis (Padres), who is known for his powerful batting, as his idol, but he also said, "The reason I like him is because of defense," revealing his strong focus on defense.

"I want to show Moinelo what I look like in number 174 uniform," he said with a laugh. When Moinelo visited the U-18 World Cup, he was told, "If you're coming to Japan, play baseball as hard as you can." Now, his senior from his home country has recorded double-digit win for two consecutive years and has been selected for the Cuban national team. Inspired by this mindset, Moreno said, "He also started out in the development team and has achieved great results. I want to be as successful as him," and intends to one day be on par with him. "I hope I can win a Golden Glove Award one day," Moreno said. Following in the footsteps of his great senior, he will soar to stardom.
