On the 13th, Softbank Hawks 's rookie players received a lecture on the theme of "How to be trusted as a professional athlete."
Takahashi Takayoshi, infielder JR East and the fifth-round draft pick, said that he received a lecture for about an hour on topics such as how to use social media and the dangers of online casinos. "It had been a topic of discussion even before I entered the professional world, so I took the lecture with a 'that's right' feeling," he said, having learned new social norms.
"I had the opportunity to participate in the U-23 Japan national team while working, so I had often heard about doping, but I realized that 'what it means to be a professional baseball player' is something you can only learn by actually becoming one. I was very grateful," he said, appearing even more determined.
