Rakuten Eagles Hideto Asamura infielder opened their voluntary training to the public in Okinawa Prefecture on November 11.
Last season, he achieved several milestone records, including 2,000 hits, 300 Home Run hit, and 2,000 games played. However, he only played in 96 games, with a batting average of .239, 34 RBI, and 9 Home Run, which was a disappointing performance. His consecutive game appearance streak also came to an end at 1,346 games. Having struggled through the season, he is determined to make a comeback. "I want to end it with some satisfaction, and I believe I can still do more, so I always have that feeling that this is not all. I also have a new desire to take on another challenge, so I will prepare thoroughly and make the most of this period," he said emphatically.
In December of last year, he attended the Hall of Fame General Assembly in Hawaii, USA, for the first time. "I've spoken to a lot of my seniors, and they've told me things like, 'You can still do more, right?' and 'You shouldn't think too much about being a veteran now. If you start thinking about it, you'll suddenly look older,' or 'You're not old enough to slow down yet, so you should play with more confidence,'" he revealed, revealing that he has received some golden words of advice from baseball legends.
During his voluntary training on this day, he practiced hard, including knocking and batting. "My goal is to continue playing in games one more time, so I'm doing voluntary training with the aim of improving my level once again in order to achieve good results," he said with determination.
